Our story

We’re
Strange Picnic.

Two brothers. One ridiculous dream.
And a game we refuse to stop building.

This is how it started

WE’RE STRANGE PICNIC.

Strange Picnic isn’t a massive studio.

There are no hundreds of developers behind the curtain.

No giant office.

No army of producers.

No mysterious floor full of people making the grass look slightly more expensive.

It’s just two brothers who grew up loving games and eventually asked the dangerous question:

“What if we made one ourselves?”

Not a tiny game.

Not the sensible first project everyone tells you to make.

A real game.

A world you could get lost in.

Something beautiful, chaotic, funny, tense, atmospheric and memorable.

Something we would have wanted to play ourselves.

That game became DUSTWIRE.

TWO BROTHERS. ONE GAME.

We’ve dreamed about making games for years.

Like a lot of people, we started as players.

We obsessed over worlds.

Weapons.

Movement.

Sound.

Tiny environmental details nobody else seemed to notice.

That feeling when you and your friends survive something you absolutely should not have survived.

The stories games create without anyone writing them.

The quiet moments before everything goes wrong.

And eventually, playing games wasn’t enough anymore.

We wanted to make one.

So we did something slightly unreasonable.

We started building DUSTWIRE.

Just the two of us.

WHAT IS DUSTWIRE?

DUSTWIRE is our co-op PvPvE extraction game built around three-player squads, dangerous expeditions, strange creatures, machines, bosses, loot, survival and a world that never feels completely safe.

But we don’t want it to feel like another grey military extraction shooter.

We want personality.

Color.

Beautiful environments.

Ridiculous weapons.

Dark warehouses lit by red emergency lights.

Forests hiding things you probably shouldn’t approach.

Massive machines wandering where they don’t belong.

Goo launchers.

Ziplines.

Jump pads.

Smoke filling entire spaces.

Moments of genuine tension immediately followed by your friend doing something incredibly stupid.

That contrast is DUSTWIRE.

Serious enough to care.

Fun enough to remember.

WORLDS UNDER PRESSURE.

That became our motto because it describes more than the game.

It describes this entire project.

Explore DUSTWIRE

“WAIT… TWO PEOPLE ARE BUILDING THIS?”

Yep.

That reaction never gets old.

Every system you see has passed through an extremely small team.

Gameplay.

Weapons.

Enemies.

Boss encounters.

Networking.

Movement.

UI.

Loot.

Progression.

Sound.

World building.

Lighting.

VFX.

Animation integration.

Optimization.

Testing.

Website.

Trailers.

The endless list of tiny things nobody notices unless they’re broken.

We use incredible tools, technology and assets where they help us move faster, but someone still has to turn all those pieces into one coherent game.

For DUSTWIRE, that’s us.

Two brothers figuring it out one problem at a time.

And occasionally wondering why we didn’t choose something easier.

WE AREN’T TRYING TO PRETEND WE’RE AAA.

We’d rather do something more interesting.

We want to see how far two extremely determined people can push a project when modern tools finally make ideas like this possible.

We can’t outspend the largest studios in the world.

So we have to out-care them.

Every screen gets questioned.

Every mechanic gets rebuilt when it doesn’t feel right.

Every weapon needs personality.

Every sound needs weight.

Every environment needs a story.

If something feels generic, we keep pushing.

Sometimes that means throwing away days of work.

Sometimes weeks.

It hurts.

Then the game gets better.

And we do it again.

WHY “STRANGE PICNIC”?

Because it sounded like us.

A little weird.

A little playful.

Something pleasant happening somewhere it probably shouldn’t.

That’s basically the feeling we want our games to have.

Beauty next to danger.

Humor next to tension.

A picnic at the end of the world.

Perfectly normal.

THE DREAM IS BIGGER THAN ONE GAME.

DUSTWIRE is the beginning.

The real dream is Strange Picnic.

A tiny independent studio capable of building worlds people genuinely care about.

We don’t dream about becoming a giant corporation.

We dream about having enough freedom to keep making strange, ambitious games without sanding away everything interesting about them.

Games built by people who still love games.

Games with imperfections, personality and ideas worth arguing about at 2:00 AM.

Games where you can feel that somebody cared.

If Strange Picnic succeeds, that’s what we want it to become.

WHY WE’RE TELLING YOU ALL THIS

Because building a game at this scale with two people is incredible.

It is also brutal.

Every dollar matters.

Servers cost money.

Software costs money.

Assets cost money.

Music and sound cost money.

Testing costs money.

Marketing costs money.

Localization costs money.

Steam releases, trailers, infrastructure and eventually bringing in specialists for the things two humans simply cannot do alone all cost money.

And every hour spent solving those problems is an hour that could have gone into making DUSTWIRE better.

We’ve already chosen to take the risk.

We’ve already started climbing the mountain.

We’re not asking anyone to believe in an idea written on a napkin.

The game exists.

We’re building it.

We’re testing it.

We’re improving it.

And we intend to finish it.

IF YOU WANT TO HELP TWO BROTHERS DO SOMETHING SLIGHTLY INSANE…

Support Strange Picnic.

Not because we’re the biggest studio.

We clearly aren’t.

Support us because you want more weird teams attempting things they probably have no business attempting.

Because you want independent games with personality.

Because somewhere out there are two brothers sitting in front of their computers trying to turn the game they imagined for years into something thousands of people can eventually play together.

A contribution doesn’t magically make DUSTWIRE exist.

It already exists.

What it gives us is something incredibly valuable:

More time to make it great.

More polish.

More testing.

Better audio.

Better animation.

Better servers.

Better environments.

More creatures.

More encounters.

More of the things that make a world feel alive instead of merely functional.

And fewer compromises made simply because there were only two of us.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO GIVE US MONEY TO HELP.

Seriously.

Send us feedback.

Laugh at our bugs.

Complain about weapon balance.

Become irrationally attached to one gun and demand that we never nerf it.

That stuff matters more than people realize.

Every person who discovers DUSTWIRE makes this weird little studio a little less little.

AND IF YOU DO DECIDE TO SUPPORT US…

We want you to feel like you were there before anyone knew our name.

Before Strange Picnic had an office.

Before there was a team.

Before DUSTWIRE was something people recognized.

When it was still just…

two brothers, two computers and one extremely stubborn dream.

Maybe one day millions of people will run around the worlds we’re building.

Maybe somebody will ask how all of this started.

The answer will be pretty simple.

We wanted to make cool games.

So we started.

And some amazing people decided to help us keep going.
